I’ve been riding my scooter a lot over the past two weeks, and I also installed two upgrades on my new scooter: a tracker and a “ski.”

Xiaomi Tag 🏷️

I hid a Xiaomi Tag inside the scooter. The device connects to Google Find Hub and can track its location. This tracking only works provided that owners of Android smartphones supporting Google Find Hub are nearby 📱🤔💭 In case thieves steal my scooter, I’ll be able to try and find the tag and reclaim the scooter from them. I hope I won’t need it, but if I do—that’s when I’ll find out how well it works.

Scooter Ski 🏂

I glued a plastic “ski” to the bottom of the scooter, which now helps me drag it through the stairs in my apartment building. How long this ski will last is, of course, an open question. The attachment using superglue and a plastic bag turned out to be somewhat unreliable. At least the screws don’t catch on the steps anymore. 🏢 Taking the scooter out of the apartment has become easier and more convenient.
