Sold My Bike
An era has come to an end; I sold my bike ๐ฐ๐ซก Recently, Iโve been catching colds after every bike ride due to the wind and sweat, so I decided it would be better to stop riding altogether. I’m not exactly sure if this was the right decisionโbut I had been thinking about selling the bike for a long time. On Thursday, I took my final ride on the bike to the train station and handed it over to the buyer. I received \(150, while the original price I paid at the store a long time ago was \)600.
Bike Statistics Over 3 Years ๐ฒ
-
Rides: 305
- Purchase Date: 2023.04.23
- On average, I did two rides a week
-
Tire Changes
- Front x1 (only changed the inner tube)
- Rear x1 (only changed the inner tube)
- Expenses: approx. $670
-
Income: $944
- Rides: $794
- Sale: $150
๐น Profit: $274
The bike was good: it didn’t break down or act sluggish.
I recorded $274 as profit, but I wouldnโt claim with a straight face that I actually “earned” anything from the bike ๐ค๐ญ In my own opinion, I more likely broke even: I lost as much as I spent ๐ฅต
Conclusions:
Looking back, here is what could have improved my cycling experience:
- If you live in hilly terrain โ buy a bike with an electric motor โก
- When buying a bike โ wait for a discount or a sale; don’t buy it at full price ๐ธ
-
Dress correctly. If you go out and immediately feel cold โ
itโs better to go back and change ๐ง๏ธ
- Wear clothing that protects against the wind. Wear a hat in winter and autumn ๐
-
Itโs better to do many light workouts than one heavy one ๐
Don’t overexert yourself
- Itโs better to do a long and steady workout than a fast and intense one
-
Make sure your feet stand level on the pedals without any
tilting
- Wear knee pads
-
Don’t ride if you are sleepy ๐ด
- Ride when you feel alert ๐
- Don’t ride on wet tram rails ๐๐ฆ
So, that was the story.
