This week, I took several scooter trips in sub-zero temperatures. It feels warm at first, but it gets cold toward the end of the ride. My fingers and toes freeze the most. It seems like I need to wear heavier gloves and boots.

Announcement of the new Xiaomi Series 6 scooters

I read about the new Xiaomi scooters coming out in 2026, and I want to share my opinion on them. The biggest difference from the previous series is the large wheels. They were 10 inches before, but they will be 12 inches now. It’s a mixed decision:

🟩 The benefit is that larger wheels ride more stably and reduce the risk of falling on uneven roads. ⛔ But there’s a downside: the scooters have become heavier, making it harder to carry them into an apartment.

Ultimately, it turned out to be a questionable update 🤔💭 It seems Xiaomi wanted to change something about the scooters so that there would be a clear distinction from the previous series. But a scooter is a very simple thing. There’s a battery, handlebars, wheels, and a deck. Everything that could have been improved was already improved in the Series 4 and 5. Therefore, they had to look for something to change for the Series 6. So they went with larger wheels. Otherwise, nothing has changed.
