Good day ☀️ It's time to write a weekly post.
Last week I didn't code or draw in my free time, so I'll write about Google issues.
::: Google Search Engine :::
One of my projects is my personal website. For several months, I've been considering implementing Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I both want and don't want to take on this task. I want because it would be interesting to see my text notes appear in search results. But I don't want to because I have to deal with Google Search Console. The issue is that Google Search Console cannot provide an error message about my site. It's stuck in a perpetual "PENDING" state. If they showed me some minimal information explaining what's wrong, I would happily fix the problem. But currently, there's no clarity on what to fix or if anything will change after fixes are made.
::: Android Restrictions :::
I recently read about new restrictions in Android. Starting in 2027, you'll only be able to install apps from a file if the developer registers with Google using a passport. So my plan is to buy a new phone at the end of 2026, disable system updates, and use it until the end of time. However, this plan isn't without potential trolls: Google might already have code in place for app verification in Android, which they'll activate in 2027 or via an update to the Google Play Framework (these updates can't be disabled, apparently)
If you have any ideas on how to deal with Google Search Console bugs and Google Android restrictions, leave a comment below 🥴
